Get to sleep more easily • Sleep through the night • Wake up feeling refreshed

It’s what you do during the day that dictates how well you sleep through the night…

Not being able to sleep affects every aspect of our lives, it affects our physical health, our mental health, our relationships and our work.

EVERYBODY can improve their sleep!

Even the most complicated sleep issues are highly solvable problems and often long standing sleep disorders respond to just a few simple changes.

How the process works

We can divide the things which disrupt or sleep into 4 categories (which often overlap)

Physiology. Sleep is a physiological process that is controlled by hormones. These hormones (and their timing) are controlled by what we do (or don’t do) during the day. Some things negatively affect this hormone system and some thing positively affect it. By doing more of the positive and less of the negative we can improve the physiological process of our sleep.

Routine. Sleep likes routine! Every cell within our body works around a 24 hour clock, some of the things we do disturb this 24 hour routine an stop us sleeping. Simple routine changes can help to dramatically improve our sleeping pattern.

Environment. Too hot, too cold, too light, too noisy…..all of these things can affect our sleep and many of them are quick and easy to fix.

Thought Processes. It is often the ‘busy brain’ that stops us from sleeping, but some simple strategies can help us to keep these thought processes away from bed time leading to better sleep patterns…..better sleep patterns often calm the busy brain

As we address each area, your sleep improves….it really is that simple!

Common questions

How do the sessions work? Once you book your appointment you will receive an email with 2 links, one to a sleep diary and one to a questionnaire. These need to be filled out and returned/submitted prior to your appointment (the booking diary doesn’t allow you to book an appointment within 2 weeks to give you enough time to fill these out). These forms then enable us to identify which areas are having the most impact on your sleep. During your consultations we work with you to implement strategies to address these areas.

How many sessions are needed? Typically it will be anywhere between 3 and 6 sessions. The average number of sessions sits around 3 and we have yet to have a patient need over 5 sessions. Improving sleep is a fairly straightforward process but it does take time so usually the sessions are spaced several weeks (or even months) apart.

Are additional sessions needed further on down the line? No. The strategies you learn and implement in your sessions provide you with a lifelong skillset to optimise your sleep.

Are sessions suitable for children? Not yet, adult and child sleep are fairly different so currently sessions are only available for people over the age of 16. Paediatric sleep sessions will be up and running by the end of 2024.
